Who I am outside of work is

intrinsically tied to what I do for work.

But if I didn’t do it for work,

I’d still do it.

A love fueled by iconic comedies of the early oughts, surrounding myself with funny people, and…existence. The desire to laugh and be laughed at led me to Comedy Central, where I cut my teeth as a writer/director/producer/shooter/editor making series for the network’s Originals channel, helping earn 900M+ views, 10M subscribers, and 4.4B minutes watched (that’s a B as in billion!!!). Today, my independent work appears in Vulture and The New Yorker, and you can find me yuckin’ it up in random places, like here or here.

I also catch a lot of stand up and solo shows. My favorite are the kind that make you laugh and cry, and also laugh. Shows like Michael Cruz Kayne’s “Sorry For Your Loss” or Adam Cayton Holland’s “Happy Place”. Work by good people telling meaningful stories.

Speaking of dreams… I have big ones. Of going back in time to create “Barry” before Bill Hader does.

Comedy is my first love.

I love acting and improv.

I’ve trained at WGIS and UCB.

I’ve traded lines with Richard Kind.

I used to talk to myself.

I make parody PSAs.

I’m a performer.

E.A.R.T.H. table read, July 2025

I run a writer’s group.

We meet to table read, share notes and feedback, and eat piles of snacks. I’m constantly inspired by this community and there’s no question they’ve made my writing exponentially better.

Without this group, I wouldn’t have written my hour-long light hour sci-fi pilot, E.A.R.T.H. (wanna read it?) and I certainly wouldn’t have been able to assemble a giant group to read it cover-to-cover in one sitting. ———————>

Which I consider both a hobby and research. I love TV series because I enjoy developing long-term attachments to characters and investing in drawn out storylines. I have too many favorites to list, but I’m a big fan of Severance, and I love everything Nathan Fielder has ever done. I prefer solo viewing so I can replay amazing line reads seventeen times and/or take photos of the TV screen — behaviors most viewing partners do not enjoy.

I also catch a lot of films, lately it’s mostly older titles I’ve yet to see. I love watching these classics for the first time on a big screen the way they were intended to be seen. Some of my favorite LA theaters include Vidiots, The Vista, and the Academy museum. (The latter is a particularly special experience because you don’t have listen to anyone eat!!!!!) I also really enjoy doing this alone, but hit me up if you wanna tag along. 🍿

I watch a lot of things.

Ten Things I Can’t Live Without

In no particular order.

1. These boots were made for literally everything. | 2. A functional classic. | 3. Wool sea sponges in the shower and the kitchen sink. | 4. Because sometimes you only need half the caff. | 5. Lip balms. And lots of ‘em. | 6. This perfect Everlane crew in all the colors, sleeves, and necklines. | 7. Incomparable. | 8. The essential travel hack. | 9. Canada Dry or bust. (Seriously, get it together, Delta.) | 10. Levis. Obviously.
