The Devious Mind Behind Wordle

“In this comedic short, the new Wordle producer derives immeasurable joy from watching people fail.” A perfect summation by The New Yorker when they featured this satirical short written and directed by Trevor Williams. The film took the internet by STORM (five letters.) It was shared by Questlove and Reese Witherspoon—among many others—and has since collected a whopping 4.5 million views on Instagram alone.

My Role

Director of Photography. I also played a small role as “Doris”, a woman who gets a book thrown at her. I did my own stunts.

DoorDash

To celebrate “National Ice Cream Day”, DoorDash teamed up with Chef JJ Johnson for “Sundae School”—three fun, hands-on sessions exploring ice cream recipes featuring everything from fresh peaches to Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

My Role

Director of Photography—tasked with the magic of filming ice cream in the middle of a New York heat wave.

Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn

In the latest in a series of run-ins thanks to their long-running Wrestlemania feud, Johnny Knoxville wanted to crash Sami Zayn’s show during Netflix Is a Joke Fest, and he needed someone to document the madness that ultimately ensued.

My Role

As the solo cinematographer, I worked closely with Knoxville to determine timing and the perfect coverage. I also ensured every insult was audible by capturing sound for both him and the legendary Wee Man.

Noteworthy

The incident sparked plenty of discourse across the internet and was covered by multiple media outlets.

Comedy Specials

From within the walls of intimate clubs and iconic theaters across the country, I’ve had the joy of contributing to numerous comedy specials, collaborating with a diverse array of comedians and crews to bring each unique vision to life.

Comedians include Pete Holmes, Eric Andre, Alan Cumming, Andrew Santino, Whitney Cummings, and more, with specials featured across Netflix, Hulu, Max, Adult Swim, Showtime, and beyond.

My Role

Anything from rigging giant Vaudeville letters to hiding a GoPro in a prop fridge. Usually, I’m the “A cam” operator—AKA the "hero" camera—the key close-up that plays a central role in the final edit, but I often also contribute creatively, especially when working with DP John P. Campbell. Through creative consultation and hands-on adjustments, I work closely with John to help execute his vision. On smaller-budget shoots where it's all hands on deck, I’ve helped with production design and props, and on projects when John is acting as both DP and director, I’ve assisted with directing cold opens.

For Alok’s special, John and I teamed up to develop, direct, and edit their unique intro.

RuPaul’s Drag Race

“Meet the Queens” captured the vibrant energy and personalities of season 15’s iconic contestants as they introduced themselves to fans. It was also a visual treat.

My Role

Camera operator on a small, highly collaborative set.

Noteworthy

The director cultivated a comfortable environment for the queens and the crew. This atmosphere resulted in having the opportunity to pitch a joke for Amethyst which ultimately made it into the final edit. Filed under “career highlight.”

WebMd

WebMD set out to create an informative and engaging piece on HIV prevention, focusing on the life-changing impact of PrEP. Through Randy Gould’s personal story, the project aimed to educate audiences, break down stigma, and highlight the importance of accessible healthcare.

My Role

Director of Photography. We captured the interview on-location at Randy’s house, and since the director was remote, I set up a call to facilitate real-time communication between him and Randy, ensuring the direction remained cohesive despite the distance.

Alison Roman

Alison Roman’s wildly popular series, Home Movies, offers her viewers an intimate look at her unique approach to food and cooking. The docu-style show blends her signature recipes with candid moments from within her own kitchen, bringing humor, relatability, and authenticity to each episode.

My Role

Camera operator (13 episodes) working closely with the DP and our tiny crew to capture each recipe from start to finish. Eater of delicious foods.

Department of Procreation

“In a near future, where resources are scarce and couples must apply to have children, Jen and Phil interview for their permit to procreate.”

I’m always drawn to stories that embed levity in dark situations — it’s a reflection of real life and human resilience. That’s why I was immediately on board when writer and director Kelsey Anonsen asked me to be part of this film. This smart, thought-provoking short balances sharp comedy with an unsettling premise that spotlights the absurdity of bureaucracy. It’s the exact kind of story I love. I only wish it were 90 minutes longer.

My Role

Director of photography, editor, and producer. Our team was small but mighty, and throughout this deeply collaborative experience Kelsey trusted my instincts to bring her vision to life.
